4 cars with drivers (2 kit and 2 works) met up for coffee at Lydham Village Hall car park at 11am. With tops lowered and very pleasant driving conditions we covered about 160 KMS.
Good food was to be had at the airfield café, slightly marred by slow service – due in part as it was by a very busy day at the airfield. It was the occasion of the club air races when about 20 aircraft take part in a timed figure of eight course over about 20 miles, think they had to circuit about half a dozen times. According to the commentary it was an exceptionally close and exciting finish overhead.
Altogether a very enjoyable day.
Thank you from Guy & Sally
Unfortunately, nobody took and photos. Also very unfortunate for Phil Tudor his Tiger suffered overheating and he had to be rescued.
