There was a good turnout for the opening run of the year which traditionally marked when many people had got their car back on the road after being sorned for the winter. There was of course the usual situation of some people not turning up and others who had not said they were coming but no problems.
It was our first visit to the Seasons cafe to replace
the Ponderosa which had closed, and they were very accommodating.
Yoland said it looked a bit like the Ponderosa might have looked in the
1930s, but none the worse for that.
It was a simple main road route as is the tradition for the first run
of the year when some cars are fresh out of hibernation. However, there
was plenty of interesting scenery for the passengers.
