Kevin Walker led the pack from Whittington to Jodrell Bank without losing anyone—an achievement in itself.
Apart from the radio telescope itself, which is a truly
impressive piece of engineering close-up, the main visitor attraction
is the recently opened First Light Pavilion. This is massive
grass-covered dome, partially underground that tells the story of both
Jodrell Bank and the development of radio astronomy. There is also
plenty to see in the grounds.
