For a variety of reasons, including bad weather, only a couple of us met in Wem and took a new route going up to Whitchurch, then via Ellesmere, Dudleston Heath and St Martins to the A5, with a detour via Maesbury and Knockin to reach the Pigeons. This proved to be a very pleasant run which we can use again when hopefully more people will not be detered by rain, family and other events.

Yet again the weather was far from inviting but, amazingly, we were out for an hour but dodged every big black cloud. Also amazing is that we continue to find variations on the local roads for the route. This time we went via Llanymynech, Guilsfield, Llansantffraid and Llynclys, which proved to be remarkably free of traffic.
