Amazing how we keep managing to find a different route for a local evening run round the block. This time it was a figure 8 with Knockin at the crossover. Once again we failed to get everybody on time and doing the same thing but more than usual kept in convoy, including Stuart Tomley in the Chenowth and the Mini gang of Trina, Kev and Dave who tagged on at the last minute. Only Yoland found a wrong turning (or rather failed to take one). Russ jump starts the Jago down his steep drive to save battery would you believe. The fact that he had left the radio on meant failure to start at the petrol station - he missed the run but got the pub.
Can't say we don't get variety on a run |
A quite large and assorted cavalcade of cars made use of the fine weather and took an evening stroll from the Pigeons via Harlescott, Shawbury, Wem, Baschurch, Ruyton and back to the pub to join those, including new members, who had opted out of the driving.
Ready to go |
Overspilling the car park |
We had an informal run starting earlier than most could manage, so just 3 of us fought our way west into the setting sun and had a rather easier return east to get to the Pigeons by normal club time.
