Four cars gathered at Mile End to set off for the first ShACC Camp, the route, campsite and nearbye pub having been been carefully researched by Ian and Alison Hart. Ian and Alison in their Locost, John and Amanda Baker in the Caterham, Ian and Rebecca Swift in their MX5 and Yo and Rog in the GTM. The weather held off and we had a great run across to Bala, Trawsfynydd and then down the coast to Duffryn Ardudwy.
We would all recommend the small campsite on the inland side of the A496 with its babbling brook, playground, and immaculate loos and washing area. Then a couple of minutes walk away was the Ael Bryn Hotel which served an excellent dinner and a super breakfast the following morning.
After we put out tents up, we set off for the beach opposite Harlech castle where Ian and Rebecca`s dogs enjoyed a run on the beach and some hardy members of the group braved the waves for a paddle. A brief stop in Harlech for afternoon tea and to buy beer and then chill out in the campsite with a few beers before dinner. An Excellent idea Ian, great planning and super company. We will be doing it again next year - don`t miss out on the fun, come and join us.
