Christmas/New Year Run and Lunch 2013

This year we chose the Lowfield Inn for our lunch run on Friday 27th December. The names for this popular event kept on coming in until we had 19 cars and 31 people on the list. Sadlya few had to drop out due to floods until we were down to 26 for lunch. We were delighted to welcome two in a Morgan from the Mid Wales Classic Vehicle Club and 6 members of the TR Register. Unfortunately one TR had fuel problems but Debbie was picked up by another member and brought to the pub for lunch. The run was pleasnt despite the terrible wet conditions.

The Lowfield really is an excellent venue for a car club gathering, with a huge car park and a large dining area. Everyone ordered from the menu as we arrived which must have put a strain on the kitchen but the meals were excellent, although, not surprisingly, some had to wait a bit for theirs. Many thanks to everyone who turned out on a horrible
day and special congratulations go to Guy and his son Tom in the vintage Land Rover, Pete and Samantha, distance members from Northampton, who had yomped up a Shropshire hill before lunch and Emlyn and Wendy who drove all the way from Nesscliffe Services to the Lowfield and then back to Shrewsbury WITH NO TOP! Wendy and Sam needed some extra heat to thaw out.
